The Perfect Memorial Day Staycation on El Paseo

With Memorial Day just around the corner, the urge to skip town is always enticing, but what about a fun staycation, right here in Palm Desert? It’s no coincidence that our dispensary is located on El Paseo, surrounded by the best shopping and dining in the Coachella Valley.

We decided to take a day to explore the sights, sounds, and tastes of our very own neighborhood, and what a day it was.

Stop #1

CODA Gallery

An El Paseo landmark, CODA Gallery has been a beacon for contemporary art collectors since 1987. With art from established to emerging artists, CODA Gallery has a vast array of mediums available. You can find everything from paintings and sculptures, to glass and photography. Gallery consultants are on hand for any questions you may have and can tell you more about the pieces and artists themselves. Overall, a great first stop!

Pro tip: Check out the west side of the building for a mesmerizing display of kinetic sculptures, and a larger-than-life and oh-so colorful mural. After that, head across the street (a mere 256 feet to be exact) and you’ll be at our next stop on the list.

Su and Seth’s Sweets and More

Your sweet tooth is in for a real treat with destination No. 2. You’ll find no shortage of sweets in this charming, old-fashioned candy shop. Named for Su and her grandson Seth, this is a local family owned business, with a great selection of sweets for all. What about the “more” part of the name? You can find vintage crystal glassware, freshly popped popcorn, Pez dispensers of every kind, and there’s even a book nook for the bookworm in your family.

The Leaf El Paseo

This place might look a little familiar.

It wouldn’t be the perfect day on El Paseo if it didn’t involve stopping into our luxury showroom. Get ready for a Memorial Day cookout with an ice chest stocked with some of our favorite cannabis-infused drinks like CANN Blood Orange Cardamom Social Tonic 6pk or Pabst Blue Ribbon Lemon High Seltzer 4pk.

If loungin’ by the pool and smoking is more your style, we have ISLAND prerolls, stocked and ready to rock and roll for the weekend.

Casuelas Cafe

Located just steps from our back entrance at The Leaf, Casuelas Cafe is a local fave and an always happening hot spot. With live music 7 days a week and tequila as their self proclaimed “spirit animal” there’s never a dull moment at Casuelas Cafe.

If margaritas are your drink of choice, this is the place to visit. Casuelas Cafe serves up every kind of marg you can possibly think of, from strawberry and mango, to jalapeno and tamarindo. As for food, the fajitas are sizzling, and the tacos are crunchy. This place comes highly recommended by your friends at The Leaf.
